
RubberDucks Can't Catch up with SeaWolves

Akron RubberDucks News Release
Erie's Beau Burrows twirled five innings of one-hit ball, and Will Maddox clubbed a double, triple and two RBI, as the SeaWolves claimed a 6-2 win over the Akron RubberDucks Friday night at Canal Park in Akron, Ohio.
Turning Point
Erie (13-20) took a 3-0 lead in the third inning against Akron starter Sean Brady (1-3). After a walk, hit and sacrifice bunt, Maddox belted a two-run double to center field. After Maddox advanced to third on a wild pitch, he scored on a sacrifice fly by Josh Lester for a 3-0 SeaWolves lead.
Mound Presence
Brady lasted five innings. He allowed two more runs in the fifth on a pair of hits and two walks. Brady walked four and struck out four and left trailing 5-0. On the Erie side, Burrows (4-2) retired the first 12 batters he faced. He didn't allow a hit until Connor Marabell's infield hit in the fifth inning. Burrows worked into the sixth inning and left after hitting a batter and walking a man.
Duck Tales
Ka'ai Tom scored Akron's first run in the sixth inning when he was hit by a pitch and later scored on a fielding error. He added a sacrifice fly in the seventh to make it 6-2 at the time. Marabell had both of Akron's hits. He added a double in the seventh and finished 2-4. Marabell raised his average to .325.
Notebook
The RubberDucks (20-14) have lost three straight...Maddox smacked a triple in the seventh and scored on a fielder's choice...Akron committed three errors, two on pickoff throws by right-hander Henry Martinez in the eighth, which led to two more Erie runs that made it 8-2...Erie pitching issued six walks...Time of game: 2:51...Attendance: 5,159.
