Summary Akron's Francisco Mejia had four hits, including ahomer and double, and Thomas Pannone allowed just one run over six innings, asthe RubberDucks closed a six-game road trip with a 7-3 win over the NewHampshire Fisher Cats Sunday afternoon in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Turning Point The RubberDucks (28-30) took control of the game inthe seventh when they scored four runs off Cats reliever Alonzo Gonzalez.Jordan Smith launched a two-run homer to right, his first for the Ducks, Mejiacracked a solo homer to left, and Joe Sever added an RBI single. The rallyextended the Ducks lead from 2-1 to 6-1.

Winging It Pannone (2-1) was nearly unhittable in his sixinnings. He allowed only two hits and one run. He walked two and fanned seven.The Fisher Cats scored their only run off Pannone in the second inning when TimLopes walked and Gunnar Heidt doubled. The only other hit allowed was aharmless single by Harold Ramirez in the sixth inning. In his last two starts,covering 12.2 innings, Pannone has allowed one run and struck out 12 batters.

Duck Tales Akron took the early lead with a run in the firstoff New Hampshire starter Job Harris (2-6). Smith singled, moved to third on adouble by Mejia, and scored on a groundout by Bradley. In the second inning,Luigi Rodriguez doubled and came home on a single by Mark Mathias to make it2-0. Joe Sever was 3-4 in the game, extending his hit streak to 12 games. Severchipped in an insurance run with an RBI single in the ninth.

Notebook Mejia has hit in five straight games...He was 4-5 Sunday, and theonly time he failed to reach base was when he scorched a line drive to theright-fielder in the third inning...He raised his average to .369, which leadsthe league...The RubberDucks went 4-2 on the New England road trip...Time of Game: 2:43...Attendance: 4,149.
