
Rattlers Bolster Secondary with Three New DBs

Phoenix, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers announced today that they have signed three defensive backs their inaugural season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Damond Smith and Anttonio Brown join the team as rookies, while Nathan Lindsey will begin his second season in the league.
Brown (5-11, 190, Virginia Lynchburg) attended Virginia University of Lynchburg, where he amassed 160 tackles, 24 of which were for a loss; had four interceptions, and four touchdowns on defense. He was also named to the 2011 USCAA Academic All American Team.
The Riverdale, Maryland native attended Parkdale High School where he was played multiple positions for the Panthers, which included running back, wide receiver, cornerback, safety, and linebacker.
Lindsey (6-1, 200, Fort Hays State) joins the Rattlers after spending time with the National Football League's (NFL) Detroit Lions in 2015.
Lindsey attended Fort Hays State University where he was a two-year starter for the Tigers, and in that time he recorded 113 tackles and three interceptions. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown. Lindsey also attended, Grand Rapids Community College and Eastern Arizona before eventually transferring to Fort Hays State.
The Inkster, Michigan native attended Inkster High School, where he received All-state honorable mention, all region, and all-league first team selections.
Smith (6-0, 195, South Alabama) spent all of the 2014 NFL preseason with the Kansas City Chiefs, and the 2015 season with the Arizona Cardinals. Smith also spent the 2013 season with the Canadian Football League's (CFL) BC Lions.
Smith attended the University of South Alabama, where he was named team captain. He also attended Western Michigan University where he collected 35 tackles and an interception before transferring.
The Ecorse, Michigan native also attended Inkster High School, where he was named all-conference and all-metro as a senior after leading the Vikings to state title game.
