Raptors 905 forward Ronald Roberts Jr. had all 10 of his team's points in overtime to defeat the Westchester Knicks 120-112 Friday night at Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.
Raptors 905 shot 80 percent from the field (12-for-15) in the opening period and jumped out to an early 14-point advantage before the Knicks skimmed the lead to 30-21 heading into the second quarter. Raptors 905's Scott Suggs and Westchester's Thanasis Antetokounmpo each had 11 points in the second frame to lead their teams in a 67-point quarter, as the Knicks gained a point, but still trailed 63-55 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Westchester went on a 17-4 run to take Raptors 905's lead down to just two points late in the period, only to see the Mississauga club go on a 12-2 run in the final two minutes of the quarter to take a 88-76 advantage into the fourth. Raptors 905 kept streaking to start the final regulation frame, going on a 12-4 run to stretch the lead to a game-high 20 points with just under nine minutes to go. From there, the Knicks stormed back, completely erasing the deficit and taking their first lead of the night with just over one minute remaining in the fourth quarter. Down three in the dying seconds, Bruno Caboclo hit a three-point shot with four seconds to go to force overtime, tying the game 110-110. Raptors 905 outscored Westchester 10-2 in OT to secure the victory for its first four-game winning streak in franchise history.
Recording double-digit point totals for Raptors 905 were Norman Powell (game-high 30), Roberts Jr. (20), Caboclo (19), Sim Bhullar (16) and Suggs (13). Roberts Jr. completed the double-double with a game-high 14 rebounds. Leading the Knicks offensively were Antetokounmpo (22), Darion Atkins (19), Travis Trice II (19), Jimmer Fredette (15) and Damien Inglis (12).
Raptors 905 led Westchester in field goal percentage (61.5-47.5), three-point percentage (63.2-36.0) and free throw percentage (84.8-60.0), while the Knicks held the advantage in points in the paint (58-40), second-chance points (17-9) and fast-break points (14-10).
