Raiders Re-Sign Jackson, Donnelly, Baker

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 16, 2009)- Last week the Rochester Raiders resigned Maurice Jackson, Joe Donnelly, and James Baker, all of which have been with the team since its inaugural season in 2006. Jackson, a standout wide receive at Syracuse University has been among the league leaders the past three seasons in the GLIFL/CIFL and has been the Raiders emotional leader both on and off the field. Donnelly, who also played at the collegiate level at Syracuse University adds strength and speed to the Raiders already dominant offensive line. Baker, was one of the first Raiders signed in the inaugural season and will be entering his fourth year with the organization. He will join Kwynn Walton and Dale Buck on a defensive line that lead the league in combined sacks last season.
The Raiders also solidified its offensive line by signing former St. John Fisher College All-American Brennan Fortune. Fortune will be entering his first year with the Raiders and will reunite with fellow St. John Fisher College graduate Mike Kallfelz on the offensive line.
The Raiders will be entering its fourth season overall and its first in the newly established Indoor Football League (IFL). The season is set to get underway March 19 when the Sioux Falls Storm come to Rochester in a clash of two of the top teams in Indoor Football. All seven of the Raiders home games will be played at the Blue Cross Arena for the second consecutive year.
