
Defensive Starter Cory Johnsen Returns for 2009

The Sioux Falls Storm of Indoor Football League (IFL) re-signed another starter from last season's outstanding defense. Starting defensive tackle Cory Johnsen will return for his fourth season in a Storm uniform. To help the Storm get one step closer to their fifth title.
Johnsen finished first in the league and set a career high in sacks with nine in 2008. He also set a career high in tackles for loss with twenty and tied the league for first. During the playoffs, Johnsen added two and a half tackles for loss and four and a half tackles during the Storm's run to the United Bowl IV Championship. Johnsen also went for a total of 37 tackles, and he played a major role in the Storm winning their fourth championship.
The Aberdeen, SD native was in training camp with the Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League before the 2007 season. He was injured in camp and returned to Sioux Falls to play for the Storm. Johnsen started from 2003-2005 at St. Cloud State and was named to the All-North Central Conference Second Team for the 2004 season.
