Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
San Bernardino, CA - Cristian Santana crushed his league-leading 24th homer and the Quakes enjoyed another scoreless effort out of their bullpen, downing Inland Empire by a final of 9-4 on Saturday night at San Manuel Stadium.
Santana blasted a two-run shot in the first inning, part of a four-run frame, as the Quakes took the lead for good and cruised to their 80th win of the year and 45th of the second half.
Rancho's best record in franchise history was back in 2011, when they finished 80-60. A win over their final nine games will give them a new franchise record.
Jeren Kendall led Rancho's 12-hit attack, as he went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Quakes' starter Edwin Uceta struggled, allowing four runs over 3 2/3 innings, but the bullpen was near-flawless. Ryan Moseley (5-3) earned the win, while Dan Jagiello and Logan Salow covered the final 3 2/3 innings to wrap it up.
Rancho (80-51, 45-16) is scheduled to throw Julio Urias (0-0) on Sunday afternoon at 5:35pm in San Bernardino, while the 66ers will counter with Eric Manoah (2-10).
The Quakes will return to LoanMart Field on Friday for Family RV $1 Family Feast Night, featuring one dollar hot dogs, Pepsi products and ice cream sandwiches. Tickets to the game are available online at rcquakes.com or by calling (909) 481-5000. Go Quakes!
