Olekaibe Undergoes Season-Ending Surgery

Canton Charge G Kevin Olekaibe suffered a left wrist dislocation with 23.7 seconds left in the second quarter in the December 23rd game against Grand Rapids. After he was placed on the inactive list and received further medical examination, it was determined that the injury would require season-ending surgery. The operation was a success and Olekaibe has been placed on season-ending waivers due to injury. The Charge roster stands at 11, with 10 active players and D.J. Stephens on the inactive list.

The Charge will begin a four-game road trip with a visit to the Grand Rapids Drive (Detroit Pistons affiliate) on Wednesday, January 13th at 7:00 p.m. broadcast live on YouTube. The Wine & Gold return home on Wednesday, January 20th at 11:00 a.m. for a matinee matchup with the Maine Red Claws (Boston Celtics affiliate).
