Oklahoma City Leaves Northern Arizona Feeling Blue at Showcase

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario- The Oklahoma City Blue (17-9) defeated the Northern Arizona Suns (12-11), 103-98, on Wednesday at the 2017 NBA Development League Showcase.

After Northern Arizona rallied from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to lead with less than a quarter remaining, Oklahoma City scored the final eight points of the game to snap the Suns' two-game winning streak.

Semaj Christon, on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder, had a team-high 22 points and eight assists and Dakari Johnson added 20 points and eight rebounds as the Blue won for the ninth time in 11 games.

Johnny O'Bryant scored a game-high 27 points to go with nine rebounds, while Askia Booker tallied 17 points, four rebounds and three assists in the losing effort.

O'Bryant III led the Suns in the first quarter with 13 points, which included shooting five-of-seven from the field, and guided Northern Arizona to a 27-22 lead at the end of one. The blue received a seven-point effort from Kaleb Tarczewski in the opening period and Daniel Hamilton totaled six points.

Through two quarters, four Blue players reached double figures as Oklahoma City outscored Northern Arizona 31-23 to take a 53-50 lead going into halftime. The lead changed hands seven times in the opening 24 minutes of play, but neither team held a double-digit advantage at any point. O'Bryant III finished the half with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Oklahoma City continued to extend its lead in the third quarter, outscoring Northern Arizona 24-17 in the third frame.

Trailing 77-67 entering the fourth quarter, the Suns clawed back to take the lead at 86-85 with just under six minutes remaining. Six lead changes and four ties took place during the final quarter. Shaquille Harrison recorded 10 points and five rebounds in 19 minutes of relief for the Suns.

Oklahoma City will play its final game of the showcase on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET against the Santa Cruz Warriors on NBA TV. Northern Arizona plays its next game on Friday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. ET vs. the Austin Spurs on ESPNU.
