
Nader, Jones, Georges-Hunt Named NBA D-League All-Stars

PORTLAND, Maine - February 6, 2017 - The NBA Development League announced today that Maine Red Claws stars Abdel Nader, Jalen Jones and Marcus Georges-Hunt have been named NBA D-League All-Stars. Nader, Jones and Georges-Hunt become the 11th, 12th and 13th Red Claws all-time to be named All-Stars.
Nader, a rookie forward, was a second round (58th overall) selection by the Boston Celtics in the 2016 NBA Draft. Joining the Red Claws as a Draft Rights Player, Nader is 6th in the D-League in scoring, averaging 22.5 points per game to go with 6.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
Jones, a rookie forward, is 4th in the D-League with 14 double-doubles this season. Jones has started 31 games for Maine and is averaging 21.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.
Georges-Hunt, a rookie guard, has recorded Maine's only triple-double of the season on Nov. 18 (22 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists). Georges-Hunt is averaging 16.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
The NBA D-League All-Star Game, presented by Kumho Tire, is Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2:30 p.m. at the Verizon Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The game will be broadcast live on NBATV.

About the Maine Red Claws 2016-17 marks the eighth season for the Maine Red Claws. The Red Claws have been the minor league affiliate of the Boston Celtics since their inaugural season of 2009-10, and 2016-17 marks the fifth season of a"hybrid" affiliation between the two teams. Under the hybrid model, the Boston Celtics have contracted to run the basketball operations for the Maine Red Claws, including the hiring and training of the coaching and training staff as well as the all player transactions and will act as the Red Claws' sole NBA partner. The Red Claws play their home games at the Portland Expo Building. The franchise is owned and operated by Maine Basketball, LLC, which is principally owned by Bill Ryan Sr., the retired chairman of TD Bank, and Bill Ryan Jr. who serves as the team's chairman.
