McKinnie's Double-Double Leads Bulls to Road Victory in Erie

Erie, PA - The Windy City Bulls (8-12), presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, earned a 108-97 road victory over the Erie BayHawks on Wednesday evening at the Erie Insurance Arena.

The Bulls, who were led by Alfonzo McKinnie's 22 point and 12 rebound output, had six players finish with double figure scoring. Aaron Thomas (22 points), Thomas Walkup (16 points, 8 rebounds), Wesley Saunders (14 points), Alec Brown (10 points) and Ferrakohn Hall (10 points, 8 rebounds) rounded out the double figure scorers for Windy City.

The BayHawks, the NBA Development League Affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to 6-16 on the season. Erie was led by Anthony Brown who finished with 26 points and eight rebounds.

Trailing 53-51 at the half, Windy City outscored Erie 33-23 in the third quarter behind 10 points from Wesley Saunders in period.

A layup from Walkup at the 7:49 mark in the fourth quarter gave the Bulls their first double-digit lead, 95-84, in the game. Minutes later, Walkup converted another basket that gave Windy City a 16-point advantage and the team would go on to earn the victory.

The contest featured 21 lead changes and six ties before Windy City pulled away in the second half. The Bulls won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the BayHawks 54-38.

Windy City returns to action this Saturday at 6 PM when they take on the Maine Red Claws in Portland, Maine. The Bulls will return home on Friday, January 27 against Fort Wayne. For tickets and game information visit WindyCityBulls.com.
