Legends Use Balanced Attack to Beat Blue

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (3-2) settled a score with the Oklahoma City Blue (2-4) Saturday night in their home opener. After trailing by as many as 12, the Legends rallied to split this week's back-to-back with the Thunder affiliate with a 129-123 victory.

The Blue grabbed the first basket and took off to a 12-point lead early in the first. Brandon Ashley went 4-4 from the free throw line to finish with 9 points in the quarter as the Legends fought back within 2. Bryson Fonville opened the second with a three to forge ahead and the back-and-forth began. After five lead changes, Texas came out on top (66-60) with the lead they would hold through the final buzzer.

The second half remained close with the two teams tying at 63-all in the final 24 minutes. The Blue out-shot Texas 50-41% but the Legends edged the visitors on the boards (24-20) and held onto their first half advantage.

Six Legends finished in double-digits led by Justin Dentmon with 28 points, 9 assists, and 7 steals. Johnathan Motley had a game-high 11 rebounds along with 23 points and 3 blocks while Kyle Collinsworth grabbed 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Ashley (21), Keith Hornsby (19), and Fonville (14) rounded out the double-digits.

Rashawn Thomas came off the bench to lead the Blue with 22 points while Daniel Hamilton second triple-double against Texas (18 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists), and Chris Wright finished with a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds).
