Texas Legends News Release

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends split the double-header with the Idaho Stampede with a 114-113 victory Wednesday night in Frisco.

The game saw 10 lead changes, but the Stampede never passed a one-point advantage. The Legends went up 6-0 to start the game and doubled Idaho's score at the break. The second quarter saw a change in momentum as the Stampede shot 50% to the Legends' 38%. With just under four minutes in the first half, the Legends held a 10-point lead but an 11-2 run by Idaho made it a one-point game going into the locker room.

The two teams exchanged baskets in the third with Tu Holloway and Corey Hawkins leading their respective teams at 9 points apiece and tying up the match at 82-all. Melvin Johnson III grabbed the first points in the fourth and the Legends fought to maintain control. Holloway sunk back-to-back free throws to put the Legends ahead by three, but Jared Cunningham responded from outside to tie up the game with 1:32 to play. Holloway and Cunningham went back-and-forth for 17 straight points with Holloway's edging the Legends up by two from the free throw line. Micheal Eric rebounded and added two points of his own to make it a two possession game with seconds on the clock. Hawkins got one last long shot off as the time expired but the victory was sealed for the home team.

Holloway finished the night leading all scorers with 35 points, 4 rebounds, and 11 assists. Jamil Wilson added 22 and tied a team-high 9 rebounds and Eric matched the 9 rebounds adding 14 points and 4 blocks.

Cunningham led the Stampede with 30 points while Tibor Pleiss had the team's only double-double of 15 points, 12 rebounds.

The Legends will return to the court Friday night hosting the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 7pm. Fans can catch all the action live on TX-47 or www.TexLegends.com.
