
Legends Grab Wire-To-Wire Win over Wolves

DES MOINES, IA, - The Texas Legends (6-5) led from start to finish in their 125-100 victory over the Iowa Wolves (2-8) Sunday night in Des Moines.
Kyle Collinsworth grabbed back-to-back baskets within the first minute to jump start the Legends en route to a 9-0 lead. Texas dominated the boards to go up 33-21 at the first buzzer. The second quarter saw more of the same as Justin Dentmon and Keith Hornsby went off for 14 and 13 respectively and the visitors went to the locker room with a 70-47 advantage.
The Wolves came out determined in the second half, holding Texas to only 18 points in the third and cutting the deficit by nine with an 11-2 run at the end. Iowa continued to chip away in the fourth but Texas found an answer to every basket and ultimately pulled up to their largest lead of the night (+26) to fend off the home team's efforts.
The Legends finished with seven players in double-digits led by Dentmon with a game-high 30 points to go with 6 rebounds, 4 assists. Johnathan Motley added 25 points and led the Legends' rebounding efforts with 13 while Collinsworth picked up 12 off the glass to complete his double-double with 12 points. The team grabbed a season-high 59 rebounds and had 66 points in the paint on the way to their largest margin victory of the season.
Melo Trimble led the Wolves with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists while Amile Jefferson added a double-double of 19 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
Texas returns home to host the Canton Charge this Wednesday at 7pm CT.
