
Legends Grab Big Win over Clippers

ONTARIO, CA, (Dec. 30, 2017) - The Texas Legends (11-10) hit the road for their first matchup after the holiday break, taking on the Agua Caliente Clippers (13-10) in Ontario. Utilizing a well-rounded attack, the Legends evened the season series (1-1) with a 128-110 victory.
The Clippers grabbed the first points and quickly went up 5-0. Texas responded with a six-point streak and the back-and-forth began. The Clippers tied it up with just under three minutes left in the first but Texas went on a 10-2 run to take their largest lead (+8) into the second. The home team kept it close in the second, pulling ahead twice. Texas held a 7-point advantage in the final minute, but back-to-back threes put the Clippers within one at the break.
Agua Caliente opened the second half with a jumper from Brice Johnson to take the lead, but Texas answered within seconds and stayed in control the remainder of the game. The Legends shot 62% in the final 12 minutes to power their way to a double-digit victory led by Justin Dentmon with a 12-point fourth quarter performance.
Six Legends finished with double-digits in the scoring column with Jameel Warney (24 points, 13 rebounds, 4 steals) and Johnathan Motley (12 points, 10 rebounds) grabbing double-doubles. Wade Baldwin IV led the scoring efforts with 26 points while adding 7 rebounds, 7 assists while Jalen Jones went 7-of-11 and 3-of-4 outside for 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Dentmon grabbed 23 points and dished out 7 assists, and Xavier Johnson came off the bench to tally 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.
The Clippers were led by LaDontae Henton and Tyrone Wallace with 26 points apiece. Ike Iroegbu added 17 off the bench alongside Tyler Roberson grabbing a team-high 8 rebounds to go with 8 points.
