
Big Third Quarter Gives Reno the Win

Hidalgo, Texas - The NBA G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers, affiliate of the Houston Rockets, were defeated by Reno Bighorns 152-130.
Reno's Marcus Williams scored 25 points in the game. Jack Cooley had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Tony Wroten scored a game-high 25 points for the Vipers. Tyler Lydon collected a double-double with 21 points and 16 rebounds.
The first quarter was hard fought between both teams. Tony Wroten set the tempo for the RGV Vipers, finishing the first quarter with nine points, but Reno got the upper hand leading 35-33.
The second quarter was back and forth with a total of eight lead changes. Tyler Lydon scored 10 points in said quarter. After both teams put up 37 points, the Vipers headed towards the locker room trailing 70-72.
Reno Bighorns had a dominant third quarter performance. Marcus Williams helped Reno by scoring 17 points in the quarter. The Vipers entered the fourth quarter trailing 98-111. Reno's offense was able to deny the Rio Grande Valley from making a comeback. The Bighorns further extended their lead and capped of the night with a 130-152 win.
The Rio Grande Valley Vipers will start of the new year on Tuesday, January 2 and against Northern Arizona Suns at home.
