Texas Legends News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK- The Texas Legends (4-3) took their third straight win in a close match with the Oklahoma City Blue (6-4) Friday night. With a game-high 31 points from Pierre Jackson, the Legends edged the Blue 110-107 in the final minutes.
The Blue got off to a quick lead and held on through most of the first despite 14 points from Jackson. Texas took their first lead nine minutes in and used a 13-3 run to get a double-digit edge. Oklahoma City spread the scoring in the second, but struggled from outside going 3-for-11 and trailing the visitors into the locker room.
Jackson came out firing in the third hitting 3-of-4 from long distance and tallying 11 third-quarter points, but Dakari Johnson responded with 15 for OKC along with 5 of the team's 20 rebounds. The presence under the basket put the Blue on top going into the final minutes with 12 unanswered second-chance points. Down by eight, the Legends attacked the boards and fought to rally for 10 minutes before tying up the score. With a minute left to play, Kyle Collinsworth stole the show and slammed one home that would tie up the game then followed it up with another steal and ultimately the final lead-grabbing basket.
Jackson led the Legends in scoring (31), assists (6), and steals (3) while Manny Harris tallied his fourth straight double-double of 26 points, 11 rebounds. CJ Williams went 4-for-7 outside to finish with 14 points and Tony Wroten rounded out the double-digit scores with 12 points, 4 rebounds.
Oklahoma City got their spark from Dakari Johnson who ended with 30 points, 11 rebounds.
The Legends will continue their road streak in Iowa on Monday taking on the Energy at 7pm CT. Fans can catch the action live on www.TexLegends.com.
