
Johnathan Motley Named NBA G League Player of the Month

FRISCO, TX, - Texas Legends center Johnathan Motley was named NBA G League Player of the Month today for the month of January.
Motley (6-10, 230, Baylor) averaged 22.6 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 11 games this month, leading Texas to a league-best 9-2 record. The Houston native set new career highs for himself and season-highs for the team in rebounds with 17 boards in back-to-back games while the team went on a seven-game win streak. Motley had career-highs in assists (6) and steals (6) in the month and tallied eight double-doubles in 11 games, bringing his season total to 17.
Motley has played 26 games with the Legends this season averaging 21.8 points, 10.5 rebounds on a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks.
Texas (20-12) will host the Windy City Bulls Friday at 7:30pm in the first of a back-to-back weekend set. The Legends currently sit at second place in the Western Conference and will face the reigning Austin Spurs (21-12) Saturday at 7:30pm.
