
Jerian Grant's Buzzer Beater Pushes Windy City Past Canton

Hoffman Estates, IL- The Windy City Bulls (6-4), presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, beat the Canton Charge in thrilling fashion on a game-winning shot at the buzzer by Jerian Grant Friday evening at the Sears Centre Arena. Grant, along with guard R.J. Hunter and forward Paul Zipser, were assigned to Windy City earlier in the day by the Chicago Bulls.
Grant finished with 20 points, nine assists and six rebounds. Hunter added 16 points from the Bulls backcourt while Zipser added a double-double, tallying 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Center Alec Brown contributed a big night for Windy City, finishing with a career high 20 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Rounding out the Bulls double-figure scoring performers was Aaron Thomas who scored 10 points.
Canton was led by Quinn Cook who finished with a game high 30 points. Chris Evans added 21 points for the Charge
After trailing 49-42 at halftime, Windy City pulled within two heading into the fourth quarter on the first of two buzzer beaters by Jerian Grant, who scored a bucket as the third quarter expired, cutting the Bulls deficit to 73-71.
Trailing by a point with 42 seconds remaining, Alec Brown came up with a blocked shot and the Bulls converted on offense, giving Windy City their first lead in the half 94-92.
Canton would answer and tie the game on a reverse layup by Chris Evans with 14 seconds left, setting the stage for the last play. As time ran down, Jerian Grant dribbled out the clock before draining a step back 17-foot jumper as time expired.
The Bulls are back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Greensboro to play the Swarm at 6 PM CT. Windy City returns home next week for back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. For tickets and game information, visit www.WindyCityBulls.com.
