
Harris Shines in Legends' Rally over Stars

FRISCO, TX- The Texas Legends (18-19) fought back from a 15-point deficit to defeat the Salt Lake City Stars (12-25) 105-101 Friday night in Frisco.
The Legends held onto a tight lead until midway through the first when Jermaine Taylor grabbed five straight points to put the Stars up. Salt Lake City turned a five point advantage into 15 early in the second and outscored the home team in the quarter to maintain a nine point edge at the break.
The D-League's leading scorer, Manny Harris, kicked into gear in the second half tallying 12 of the team's 36 third quarter points to put the Legends back in contention. Harris tied the game with a long-ball with 45 seconds to play and JJ Avila added two to give Texas their first lead since the first quarter. Avila would answer tying attempts by the Stars with a basket in the final second to hold the two-point Texas lead going into the final quarter. The two teams kept it close throughout the fourth, tying once and exchanging leads twice. The Stars made it a one-point game under the minute-mark but the Legends sealed the victory with Harris at the free throw line.
Harris finished with a game-high 37 points to lead the Legends along with 10 rebounds, 5 assists. Jameel Warney grabbed 15 boards and finished with 27 points, 5 assists for his ninth double-double on the season. Pierre Jackson rounded off the team's double-digit scoring with 15 points, while adding 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
The Stars had five players in double-digits led by Utah Jazz assignee Joel Bolomboy with 21 points, 21 rebounds.
