Greensboro Drops Heartbreaker to BayHawks in Overtime

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, suffered a 105-104 overtime setback to the Erie BayHawks on Saturday night at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. Erie closed the fourth quarter on a 14-5 run and won the game on a Josh Magette jump shot as time expired in overtime.

Magette finished the game with 16 points and 16 assists for the BayHawks (20-17). Erie's starting five all scored in double figures, with Jaylen Morris scoring a team-high 21 points on 10-of-14 shooting in 35 minutes. Jeremy Evans also recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Greensboro (11-24) was led by Damien Wilkins' game-high 22 points. He also finished the night with seven assists and six rebounds in 32 minutes. Roscoe Smith added 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting to go with nine rebounds off the bench.

The Swarm carried a 85-74 lead entering the fourth quarter. However, it was the BayHawks that rallied to outscore Greensboro 28-17 in the quarter on 50 percent shooting. Erie did not take the lead until 1:48 remaining in regular on a Morris lay-up. The Swarm sent the game into overtime on a Wilkins three-point shot with 29.8 seconds left.

Wilkins had the first basket in overtime, when he banked in a fade away shot just outside the paint. Erie scored the final three points, concluding in Magette's dramatic shot.

The Swarm have one last game before heading into the NBA All-Star Break. On Monday, February 12, the Swarm take on the Delaware 87ers at the Bob Carpenter Sports Convention Center. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
