Erie BayHawks Partner with Erie County Department of Health to Launch Project:FIT Campaign

UPMC Health Plan and LECOM Health to support campaign through clinics and health education packet

Erie, Pennsylvania, November 17 - The Erie BayHawks are pleased to announce Project:FIT in partnership with the Erie County Department of Health, UPMC Health Plan, and LECOM Health. Project:FIT is a year-long initiative to promote healthy living through interactive camps, clinics, educational opportunities, and fan contests during the 2016-17 BayHawks season.

With the help of sponsors, the BayHawks will host six youth clinics, free of charge. Each clinic will feature BayHawks players and coaches demonstrating activities to promote healthy lifestyles and habits. The clinic dates and local group or school partners will be announced at a later date. All clinic participants will be provided with a Project:FIT Health Packet, thanks to UPMC Health Plan. The packet contains several youth health tips, interactive activities and games, and the Project:FIT four-week physical challenge. Each participant that completes the four-week challenge will receive two complimentary tickets to the Project:FIT night on Saturday, February 4.

The BayHawks will take the court in specially designed jerseys on Project:FIT Night. Jerseys will be auctioned and proceeds will benefit an organization to be named by the Erie County Department of Health.

In addition to clinics, the BayHawks will host in-game promotions during each of the remaining home games and conduct social media activations. In-game promotions will include co-branded videos, in-game trivia, Kidz Wing activations, and health facts. Social media content will include fit tips, healthy eating recipes, and player content.
