Iowa Wolves News Release

Cedar Park, Texas- The Iowa Energy (2-17) dropped their second straight road game in as many days Friday night, falling to the Austin Spurs (8-11) 110-117 at the Cedar Park Center.

Troy Williams was one rebound shy from recording a double-double. The former Indiana Hoosier finished the evening with 24 points (8-16) and nine rebounds.

The Iowa Energy fell behind early in Friday night's contest, trailing by eight after the first quarter. An 8-2 run to start the second brought the game to within one at halftime.

Trailing 56-55 out of the break, the Energy gave up 36 third quarter points, giving the Spurs a lead they would hold onto. A late fourth quarter rally brought the game to within seven, but it was too little too late for Iowa.

Two other Energy players joined Williams with 20-plus points. JaKarr Sampson scored 22 points while adding seven rebounds and three steals. The forward has averaged over 21 points in his last eight outings.

Wayne Selden Jr. poured in 23 points, including a game-high five 3-pointers. The five 3-pointers made was a single-game high this season for the Kansas product.

Terry Whisnant followed up last night's impressive performance with a 15-point showing. The guard halved last night's three point total, shooting 4-11 from deep.

Bryn Forbes and Cory Jefferson led the Spurs with 25 points apiece, shooting a combined 18-33 (54.5%) from the field.

As a team, the Spurs shot 48% (11-23) from deep and 54% from the field.

The Iowa Energy will receive a five-day break before resuming their five-game road trip next Thursday against the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
