
Energy Can't Hold Onto Lead in Fourth, Fall to Canton

Canton, Ohio- After leading for much of the game, the Iowa Energy (2-5) gave up a 14-3 run to start the fourth quarter during a 106-100 loss Friday night to the Canton Charge (2-4).
Tonight was the lone matchup of the season between the two teams, formerly of the same division until realignment moved the Energy to the Southwest Division this season.
Matt Costello led the way offensively for the Energy, scoring 20 points while adding 16 rebounds for this fourth double-double of the season.
Wayne Selden Jr. scored 22 points in 34 minutes. It was his third 20-plus point performance in as many contests.
Kalin Lucas (17), Terry Whisnant (14) and JaKarr Sampson (13) each tallied double-figures in the loss.
As a team, the Energy outrebounded the Charge 48-42 and shot a higher percentage from the field as a team.
Christopher Evans and Quinn Cook spearheaded the Charge offensively, combining to score 61 points on 21-40 shooting.
Three other Charge players recorded double-figures on the night.
The Iowa Energy finish their four-game road trip on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants before returning home on Dec. 3 to battle the Sioux Falls Skyforce, tipoff at 8:00 p.m.
