Dawkins, Legends Hit Season-High to Blow out Energy

DES MOINES, IA- The Texas Legends (22-20) were seeking records in a runaway matchup against the Iowa Energy (11-31). The visitors finished with a season-high score of 148 in the 43-point routing.

Iowa took an early lead with a three-ball from Grizzlies assignee Wade Baldwin IV to open the game. The Energy went up 17-10 before Texas responded with a 20-2 run to set the tone for the rest of the game. Andre Dawkins grabbed his third three of the night to take the 15-point gap to 18 opening the second. The Legends would extend their lead to 24 before the break with Dawkins finishing 5-of-7 from outside.

The Legends' hot shooting continued out of the locker room as the team shot 54% for 35 third-quarter points. The Energy shot 36% but got some assistance at the free throw line to hold close to Texas with 32 points. Texas entered the fourth up 107-80 and went up by as many as 46 in the final minutes. Dawkins hit five from outside to come within one shot of the all-time D-League three-point record. Texas finished the night shooting 51.9% overall and 52.6% outside and beat the home team on the boards 51-43 en route to the 148-105 victory. The Legends also doubled the Energy's 18 assists and tripled their three steals.

Dawkins came off the bench to tie his own record of 12 threes, setting a franchise record and leading the Legends with 37 points on the night. Kyle Collinsworth grabbed 14 boards to add to 9 points, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks in 27 minutes off the bench. Jameel Warney had another statement night finishing with 30 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, while Stephane Lasme (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Pierre Jackson (19 points, 11 assists) each added double-doubles. CJ Williams went 3-of-4 outside to finish with 13 points, rounding off the Legends' double-digit performances.

Jarell Martin led the Energy with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots. Baldwin finished with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and JaKarr Sampson added the only other double-digits with 15 points off the bench.
