The Canton Charge (3-5), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, led wire-to-wire in a 114-113 victory over the Greensboro Swarm (3-7) on Tuesday night.
The Charge led for the entire game and by as many as 16 thanks in part to season-high scoring nights from four different players, led by London Perrantes's 27 points and six assists in 39 minutes. Kendrick Perkins posted 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting with 15 boards, both season-highs, to go along with five assists and two blocks in 33 minutes. Isaac Hamilton had eight points in five appearances before tonight's game, where he netted 19 on 7-of-8 shooting in 25 minutes. Arthur Edwards also scored a season-best 13 points with two steals and two blocks in 20 minutes.
With the game tied 8-8 early on, Canton made their move scoring on their next three possessions to take a 14-8 lead with 5:41 left in the first quarter. Greensboro trailed by multiple possessions from that moment until the final buzzer sounded following a Marcus Paige three-pointer. The Charge got a big boost from their reserves, outscoring the Swarm bench unit 45-20.
T.J. Williams led all scorers with 37 points on 15-of-28 shooting with nine rebounds in 36 minutes for Greensboro. Terry Henderson scored 24 points and grabbed four steals in 40 minutes. Mangok Mathiang posted a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds in 32 minutes for the Swarm.
