June 2, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Houma Bayou Bucks News Release

Houma, La—The Bayou Bucks will enjoy much needed rest as they move into a bye week. Following the bye week, the Bucks (8-2) will play host to the Beaumont Drillers (6-4) on June 12 at the Houma Terrebonne Civic Center.

Heading into the off week, Houma is coming off a 60-58 victory over divisional rival Tupelo FireAnts. Houma quarterback Doug Coleman continued to solidify his bid for an MVP season by turning in 287 passing yards, 6 passing touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown. Not to be out done, Tupelo signal caller Will Hall completed 17 of 25 passes for 234 yards with 6 touchdowns. Hall also rushed for 13 yards and 1 score.

Houma also had two receivers eclipse the century mark in receiving yards against the Ants. Mississippi native Kevin Heard caught 7 balls for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns. Clint Schexnayder was on the receiving end of 8 passes for a season high 100 yards and 1 touchdown.

The win over Tupelo improves Houma's record to 8-2, which translates to a first place position in the Atlantic South Division of the National Indoor Football League. Houma's record also has them tied with the Ohio Valley Greyhound for first place in the Atlantic Conference of the NIFL. A first place finish in the conference would insure home field advantage through out the playoffs.

Tickets for the game on June 12 are still available and can be purchased at any Ticketmaster location.

The Bayou Bucks are also offering "Fun Four Packs." With the purchase of these packages, one will receive 4 tickets to the game, 4 drinks, and 4 hotdogs for $40.00. Fans should act fast because supplies are limited.
