All-Division team loaded with Bucks

Houma, La—The Atlantic South Division Champion Bayou Bucks historical season continues to gain momentum as nine of their players were named to the Atlantic South All-Division team.

Garnering All-Division Coach of the Year honors was Houma Head Coach Jack Phillips Jr. Phillips in his third season with the Bucks has an overall record of 26-16. This season the Bucks finished the regular season with a franchise record 11 wins. Phillips has also guided the Bucks to their second consecutive playoff berth.

The Bucks secured six of the eight spots on offense for the Atlantic South All-Division team. Leading the way was quarterback Doug Coleman who threw for 2,743 yards and 68 touchdowns. Joining Coleman is running back Jarvis Dunn and his 674 yards rushing, 20 touchdowns on the ground, and 6 touchdown receptions. Dunn was also recognized as the Atlantic South Division's top kick returner. Making his third consecutive All-Division team appearance with 1,296 yards receiving and 36 scores is wide receiver Kevin Heard. With 12 touchdowns and 800 yards, receiver Clint Schexenayder makes his first appearance on the All-Division squad. The Bucks also took two of the three offensive line positions with perennial selection Troy Davis and first time All-Division choice Ryan Rogers.

On the defensive side of the ball, two Bucks were recognized. Defensive end Andre Reed was named to his third consecutive All- Division team with his season totals of 49.5 tackles, 15 tackles for losses, and his team leading 7.5 sacks. Joining Reed, for his first selection is defensive back Sullivan Beard. In his third season with the Bucks, Beard has recorded 42.5 tackles and 4 interceptions.

The Bayou Bucks will return to the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center on Thursday July 15 for their first playoff game. Tickets are still available and can be purchase at any Ticketmaster location or the Civic Center Box office.
