Houma Bayou Bucks News Release

HOUMA, LA—As the Houma Bayou Bucks prepare for their second consecutive post season appearance, the performance of quarterback Doug Coleman is immediately brought to the forefront.

Coleman finishes the 2004 NIFL season having played in every game for the 11-3 Bucks, and amassing several gaudy stat totals. For example, Doug completed 210 of 344 passes (61 pct.) for 2,743 yards and 68 touchdowns. In addition, Coleman has only thrown 12 intercepted passes. Coleman's quarterback rating of 111.2 puts him above the competition at his position.

During the 2004 season, Coleman was unwavering with his steady play. Coleman has yet to throw less than 4 touchdown passes in a game. On the other hand, he set a franchise record by throwing 7 touchdowns against the Waco Marshalls.

The 2004 season marks Doug Coleman's first with the Bayou Bucks. This indoor football veteran has played as a member of 1998 Indoor Professional Football League champion Louisiana Bayou Beast. A native of White Castle, Louisiana Coleman played collegiate football at Eastern New Mexico University.

The National Indoor Football League does not select a single Most Valuable Player, rather electing to choose an offensive, defensive, and special teams MVP from each conference.

The Bayou Bucks return to Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center on July 15 to host their first playoff game. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at any Ticketmaster location. The Bucks are also offering special group discounts to any group that purchases 10 or more tickets.
