'Birds, 'Hoppers Rained out on Saturday

SALISBURY, MD - Due to inclement weather across the Eastern Shore, Saturday night's Delmarva Shorebirds-Greensboro Grasshoppers game has been postponed.

The Shorebirds and Grasshoppers will make up the game as part of a single-admission doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. Game 1 will begin at 3:05 p.m. with gates opening at 2:30. Game 2 will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Both games will last seven innings.

Delmarva's Luis Perez (2-1, 1.59) matches up against Greensboro's Daniel Castano (2-2, 3.24) in the Sunday afternoon opener. As part of Christmas in July Weekend, the first 1,000 fans through the Perdue Stadium gates will receive a Shorebirds Christmas stocking. It's also a Shorebirds' Kids Club Game, presented by Maryland Excels, as well as Perdue Strike Out Hunger Sunday and postgame Kids Run the Bases presented by Chili's. Pregame coverage of Game 1 begins on Fox Sports 960 AM and the MiLB First Pitch app at 2:50 with Will DeBoer on the call.
