
Austin Spurs Defeat Reno Bighorns in First Home Game Win

AUSTIN, TX- Cory Jefferson led Austin (1-1) off the bench with 20 points and five rebounds, and the Austin Spurs won their first game of the season,115-92, against the Reno Bighorns (0-2) at the HEB Center in Cedar Park.
Pelicans assignee Cheick Diallo and San Antonio assignee Dejounte Murray each contributed a double-double performance. Diallo finished the game with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Murray added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Three Spurs players' notched double-figures, Cory Jefferson (20 points), Jarell Eddie (19 points), and Patricio Garino (12 points).
Starting guard Patricio Garino set the pace early on with a steal that resulted in an uncontested dunk in the first few seconds of the game. The Spurs stayed with this pace, keeping the lead the entire contest.
On assignment from the Sacramento Kings, Malachi Richardson paced the Bighorns with 19 points and two rebounds. Lamar Patterson had 17 points and seven rebounds, while Isaiah Cousins followed closely with 16 points and five rebounds.
The Spurs take on the Reno Bighorns again this week on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. They wrap up their four-game week at home against the Erie Bayhawks on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m. For tickets, broadcasts, or the full season schedule, visit http://austin.dleague.nba.com/.
