
AUSTIN SPURS ACQUIRE KENDAL YANCY

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Spurs, presented by SWBC, announced today that the team has acquired Kendal Yancy. Yancy will replace Olivier Hanlan when he leaves to join the Canadian National Team to participate in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Yancy went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft and was drafted by the Windy City Bulls in the fourth round of the 2017 G League Draft. He was waived on Nov. 2 before the start of the season. The 6-3 guard spent his college career at the University of Texas where he averaged 4.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 127 games.
In six games (all starts), Hanlan is averaging 19.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists. Hanlan has been a part of Team Canada for three years and has also played in 16 Junior International games. In 2010, Hanlan helped Canada win bronze in the U-17 World Championships.
This weekend the Austin Spurs host back-to-back games starting Friday, Nov. 17 when the Spurs host the Oklahoma City Blue at 7:30 p.m. for College Night.
