
Austin Falls to Los Angeles 117-104 in Game 3 of Western Conference Finals

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Brandon Fields posted a season-high 27 points and teammate Demetri McCamey recorded 18 points as the Austin Spurs fell to the Los Angeles D-Fenders 117-104 Wednesday night at Cedar Park Center.
Five Austin players scored in double figures including Fields (27 points), McCamey (18 points), Keifer Sykes (16 points), Deshaun Thomas (16 points) and Youssou Ndoye (11 points).
Ryan Gomes paced Los Angeles, recording a double-double with 35 points and 12 rebounds, while teammate Justin Harper posted 25 points.
Austin began the first frame going on a 9-2 run in the first two minutes, led by Sykes with seven points. Gomes and Vander Blue led Los Angeles in the quarter with eight points each, closing Austin's gap to two with two minutes remaining, 22-20. McCamey responded with seven of Austin's next 10 points to expand the lead at the end of the first, 32-24.
Los Angeles took their first lead of the half with four minutes remaining, 51-50, on a two-point basket by Gomes. They finished the half going on a 9-2 run, expanding their lead to 10 (62-52) at the end of the first half. Gomes led all scorers in the half with 24 points, while McCamey and Ndoye each recorded 11 points for Austin.
Los Angeles maintained their momentum in the third quarter, outscoring Austin 22-20. Austin posted 16 points in the paint while Los Angeles recorded 8 of their 22 third quarter points in the paint. At the end of the quarter, Los Angeles led 86-72.
Austin fought back in the fourth, outscoring Los Angeles 30-27, but they fell short 117-104.
Los Angeles will advance to the NBA D-League Finals and play against Sioux Falls.
