
Alaska Wild Continuing To Pack Roster With Star Quality Talent

Not only is the IFL improving and building up the league with new teams, but the Alaska Wild is continuing to build its roster with star quality. The interest level from players across the board is rising, when it comes to playing here for the Wild. We are bringing in talent from all over the states. Players are realizing the amazing opportunity our great state of Alaska has to offer.
Andrew Carcich playing QB was National Offensive Player of the Week his sophomore year of JUCO. He played in the Mississippi Junior College All-Star Game in 2006. Carcich was also named Offensive Team Captain. He passed for 1,408 yards in 12 games in his college career. Carcich has rushed for 592 yards in 12 games and threw for 5 touchdowns. He has played in a JUCO State Championship Game in 2005 against Pearl River Community College. His junior year he started 9 of the 11 games at safety. Carcich was 4th on the team in tackles with 36 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 1 sack.
Former NFL Draft prospect, Corey Small comes to the Alaska Wild from Naples, Florida. He plays CB at 5'9, and 190 lbs. He ranked 63 out of 225 CB's for the draft. In 2007 Small played and started 13 games for Florida Atlantic University with 83 solo tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-losses, and 5 interceptions. He recorded double digit tackles four times with a career-high 18 at Kentucky. In 2006 Small played every game, with a record of 36 solo tackles, 4 interceptions. Small played for Gulf Coast High School with a record of 66 tackles, 11 pass break ups, and returned two punts for touchdowns. He was also named All-County and All-Region.
Juilan Riley, 6'3" and 290 lbs is joining the Wild from St. Petersburg, Florida. He played for the University of South Florida, where he played in six games as a backup on the defensive line. Before that he was at the University of Florida for three years where he red shirted for the first year and played back up the following two years. Riley attended Lakewood High School, where he played DE and had 17 sacks. Riley was ranked eighth best strong side defensive end in the south by rival.com. Not only did he participate in football in high school, but also shined in wrestling, basketball, & track and field.
Ahmad Childress 6'6 336 will be entering his fifth season of indoor football and he will add depth to what already looks to be two strong offensive and defensive lines for the Wild. Childress will be entering the 2010 season as one of the most experienced players on the roster. From 2006-2009, Childress played 24 games with the Odessa Roughnecks. Childress played his college ball at Alabama University. He played 24 games in two seasons at Alabama after transferring from Garden City Community College. Childress recorded 48 tackles, one sack, six tackles-for-loss, 14 quarterback hurries, one interception and one pass break up while at Alabama. For his college career, Childress posted 113 total tackles with eight sacks and 18 tackles-for-loss. His professional career has taken him too many places including time with the Detroit Lions in 2004 and the New York Giants in 2004 & 2005. Childress also spent time with the Nashville Kats of the Arena Football League in 2005 and the Tennessee Valley Vipers of the AF2 in 2006.
Jeremiah Turner is a 6'2", 250lb speed defensive end out of Concordia University. Jeremiah played his first year in the IFL with the Odessa Roughnecks, where he made his presence felt in 2009. Turner produced a recorded 30 solo and 27 assisted tackles, with 2 sacks. Jeremiah is excited about coming to Alaska and bringing a winning season for 2010.
Kendrick Perry is a 6'2", 220lb RB out of Southeastern Louisiana University. As a senior in Amite High School, Perry rushed for 2000+ yards and 31 TDs. He made a name for himself as a sophomore when he rushed for 1700 yards and 25 touchdowns, which earned him the Offensive MVP Award in his district. Kendrick received offers from Texas A&M, Tulane, Southern Mississippi, South Carolina, Florida and Southern Cal.
Damein Henderson, 5'11", 195 lbs plays WR with 4.4 40 yard dash, comes to us from Amite, LA. He graduated from Northeastern State University with a Major in Science & Health. His junior year her had 33 catches, 425 yds, and 4 TDs. Henderson improved his numbers his senior year with 45 catches, 555 yds and 5 TDs. In 2008 in made Second Team All Conference. Henderson plans to be an athletic trainer once his is finished with his football career. He chose to come to Alaska because he feels it's a great opportunity. Henderson's goal is to make plays and do what it takes to win!
