Austin Turfcats News Release
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Turfcats announced today that Ronald Oswalt, the team's first Vice President/General Manager, has left the team to pursue other opportunities.
Oswalt helped guide the team from start-up through its inaugural season in the Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) in 2009, where the Turfcats posted a 10-3 record. The team recently announced that it has joined the Indoor Football League (IFL) for the 2010 season, scheduled to begin in March.
"I'd like to thank Ron for the sheer amount of work, heart, and effort he put into helping build this team from the ground up," said Turfcats Head Coach Chris Duliban. "Because of Ron's tireless work ethic and his efforts in guiding the team from its infancy, the Turfcats are well positioned as we head into our second season and new challenges in the IFL. We wish Ron nothing but the best in his future endeavors."
Joe Martinez, formerly the Turfcats' Vice President of Football Operations, has been named interim General Manager.
