Austin Turfcats News Release
AUSTIN, Texas (3/3/2010) - Not withstanding a curve ball from Mother Nature in the form of rain, the Austin Turfcats began their 2010 season in the Indoor Football League on Monday as the team's 45-man roster reported to training camp.
"We had a good series of tryouts and found a lot of hungry, local talent", said Turfcats Head Coach Chris Duliban. "Now comes the hard part of cutting the roster down to get us to our 30-man team for the season."
Practice sessions are held each weekday from 6-8pm at Kelly Lane Middle School in Pflugerville. All practice sessions are open to the public.
Training camp reports and updates will be available at Turfcats.com over the course of the 14-day camp. The roster will be cut to 36, then to 30 - 21 active - before the Turfcats open up the 2010 season on the road against the Corpus Christi Hammerheads on March 14.
The Turfcats open up at home against the Amarillo Venom on Friday, April 2, at 7:30pm at the Travis County Expo Center. Season tickets are still available, starting at only $55, by calling the Turfcats office at (512) 929-TCAT (8228) or by ordering online at www.Turfcats.com.
