Abdel Nader Named NBA D-League Performer of the Week

PORTLAND, Maine -The NBA Development League announced today that Maine Red Claws forward Abdel Nader has been named Performer of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 22.
Nader, a rookie, led Maine to a pair of wins at last week's NBA D-League Showcase, averaging 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists. Nader was named First Team All-Showcase for his efforts.
Nader led Maine (18-9, first place in Atlantic Division) to a 122-117 victory over Canton on Thursday night, scoring 29 points on 10-20 shooting, including 6-10 from three-point range. Nader drained the game-winning basket in the final minute to seal the victory. He then added 23 points in Saturday's 112-107 win over Fort Wayne.
A product of Iowa State, Nader was a 2nd Round selection by the Boston Celtics in the 2016 NBA Draft. He is tied for seventh in the D-League in scoring, averaging 22.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game this season with the Red Claws.
The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, travel to Canton Wednesday, then return to the Portland Expo for two games against Greensboro Friday and Saturday, January 27-28.
