November 30, 2015 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release

WHITE PLAINS - The Westchester Knicks (6-0), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, remain the only undefeated team with a 102-90 win over the Grand Rapids Drive (2-4), the Detroit Pistons affiliate.

Making his Westchester debut, guard Jimmer Fredette wasted no time making a graceful over the shoulder lay-up with his first shot of the game. With five quick points from New York Knicks assignee Cleanthony Early, the two combined for Westchester's first nine points. But the Drive speedily retaliated, taking the lead from the Knicks and holding onto it through the first twelve minutes.

Starting the second quarter down by two, the Knicks tied it back up and took back the lead off of a Darion Atkins lay-up. Westchester's lead wouldn't last long as the Drive took back control, going on a 15-4 run over the course of four minutes to put them up 42-33. Westchester creeped back late in the quarter but back-to-back threes from Grand Rapids pushed the Drive ahead 52-45 at the half.

Westchester turned it on in the third, going on a 9-0 run to cut the Drive's lead to one. Grand Rapids forward Devin Ebanks hit a jumper to make it 60-57 but on the ensuing possession, Fredette nailed two free throws and a shot from downtown to give the Knicks the lead. The teams started trading threes with Cleanthony Early netting two in a row, with Westchester holding on to the lead 70-67 heading into the final quarter.

Grand Rapids cut Westchester's lead back to one early in the fourth, but the Knicks took off and never looked back. Scoring seven points in a row, Jimmer Fredette combined with Travis Trice II for 23 points in the quarter. Going 6-for-6 from the line in the final forty seconds, Trice's six points sealed the deal for Westchester's sixth win, the team remaining undefeated.

Jimmer Fredette finished his NBA D-League debut with a game-high 37 points, eight assists, and four rebounds, hitting 12-of-17 field goals and going 11-for-12 from the line. Cleanthony Early recorded Westchester's sole double-double, netting 19 points and 13 rebounds. Travis Trice II rounded out the double-digit scoring, contributing 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Center Lorenzo Brown lead Grand Rapids with 23 points, nabbing five steals and four assists. Devin Ebanks finished right behind with 22 points, grabbing the double-double with 10 rebounds. Henry Sims had a double-double of his own, finishing with an impressive 14 rebounds and 11 points.

The Westchester Knicks return to the action at home on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 11:00 a.m. against the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants for its annual School Day game. The game will be broadcast live on MSG+ and YouTube.
