
Damien Wilkins Wins Bronze Medal with Team USA at Pan American Games

Des Moines, Iowa - Damien Wilkins and Team USA won bronze medals at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada on Saturday.
Team USA beat the Dominican Republic in the bronze medal game to finish with a 3-2 overall record in the Pan American Games. Wilkins (6-6, 225) averaged 13.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in five games (all starts) for Team USA.
Wilkins averaged 20.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 37.8 minutes in 50 games (42 starts) for the Energy last season. The 35-year-old Wilkins also earned Third Team All-NBA D-League honors. Wilkins spent nine-years in the NBA with six NBA teams (Seattle Supersonics, 2004-2008; Oklahoma City Thunder, 2008-2009; Minnesota Timberwolves, 2009-2010; Atlanta Hawks, 2010-2011; Detroit Pistons, 2011-2012 and the Philadelphia 76ers, 2012-2013).
The Pan American Games are a multi-sport event with teams competing from North, South and Central America, including the Caribbean. The Games take place every four years in the year preceding the Olympics.
