Jarry Named Finalist for Top Goalie

EDMONTON, ALTA. - Edmonton Oil Kings netminder Tristan Jarry has been named the WHL Eastern Conference finalist for WHL Goaltender of the Year for the second straight season, the WHL announced on Wednesday.

Jarry, 19, posted a 2.74 goals-against average, .907 save percentage and three shutouts while going 23-26-3-3 on the season while playing 55 games for the Oil Kings. The Pittsburgh Penguins second-round pick and Delta, B.C. native was also named the Oil Kings' most valuable player for the second straight season.

Jarry set numerous franchise records with the Oil Kings this season, including surpassing Laurent Brossoit for career games played by a goaltender (159), wins (93) and career saves (3,786).

The Oil Kings goalie was also named to the Eastern Conference first-team all-star team Wednesday.

Jarry will go up against Taran Kozun of the Seattle Thunderbirds for the Del Wilson Trophy for the WHL's top goaltender. The trophy will be handed on of May 6 at the 2015 WHL Awards in Calgary.
