
Austin Spurs Acquire Richard Howell

AUSTIN, TX (March 6, 2015) - The Austin Spurs, presented by SWBC, today announced they have acquired and activated forward Richard Howell. Howell's returning player rights were acquired through trade with the Westchester Knicks in February.
Howell played in the Philippine Basketball Association with the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters. In five games, he averaged 15.8 points and 15.4 rebounds in 37.0 minutes of play.
He averaged 18.0 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 20 games for the Idaho Stampede during the 2013-14 season. Howell was named All-ACC First Team his senior year (12-13) at North Carolina State where he averaged 12.7 points and 10.9 rebounds in 31.6 minutes per game.
Howell will wear jersey No. 24 when the team hosts the Bakersfield Jam tomorrow, Mar. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Park Center for Youth Sports Night presented by Seton Health Plan. The team will wear blue jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately following the game with proceeds benefitting the nonprofit, Seton Health Fund. For more information, call 512.236.8333.
