Bighorns Comeback Falls Short against Austin

RENO, NEV., JAN. 06, 2015- Despite the Bighorns rallying back after trailing the Austin Spurs by 15, Reno was not able to complete the comeback falling 138-134 Tuesday night at the Reno Events Center.

The Bighorns were led by guard Jordan Hamilton who finished with 25 points, and seven rebounds. David Stockton and Quincy Miller added 24 points each. Stockton totaled five rebounds and four assists, while Miller notched six rebounds. Ra'Shad James logged a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Bryce Cotton led the Spurs with 31 points and five rebounds. Spurs forward Adreian Payne, on assignment from the Atlanta Hawks, netted 23 points, while adding 16 rebounds.

Hamilton paced the first quarter of play, tallying nine points and two rebounds while Bighorns forward Durrell Summer finished the quarter with six points.

In the second quarter, Stockton totaled eight points for the Bighorns while James added five rebounds.

Going into the locker room at the half, the Bighorns trailed the Spurs by two, with a score of 67-65.

The Bighorns came out on fire in the third quarter, totaling 39 points and ten rebounds in the quarter. Bighorns shot 33.3% from behind the arc compared to the Spurs 16.7% in the third.

In the final quarter of the game, the Stockton added eight points to the board, while Hamilton added three rebounds.

The Bighorns hit the road this week, to take-on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Thursday, Jan. 8. Reno return home Saturday, Jan. 24 to host the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
