Tomahawks Fall to Warriors, Split Weekend Series

The Johnstown Tomahawks fell to the Michigan Warriors 3-0 on Saturday night at Perani Arena. The Tomahawks split the weekend series with the Warriors for the second time this season.

Michigan got on the board early in the second period, as Zed Dietrich scored on a rebound shot just below the crossbar. Alex Berardinelli got the assist on the goal 1:02 into the period.

Cody Lichtenvoort made it a 2-0 game just 40 seconds later, as his shot found the net over the shoulder of Tomahawks goaltender Jake Gwillim. Conor Duncan and Berardinelli added assists on the goal. AJ Marcinek made it a three-goal game five minutes into the third period, with Tyler Groat and Cam Jorgensen tallying the assists.

Ryan Wischow earned the shutout win, stopping all 29 shots he faced. Jake Gwillim took his first loss of the season, stopping 30 of 33 shots. Neither team scored on the power play, with Johnstown going 0-for-5 and Michigan going 0-for-3.

The Tomahawks open the home schedule on Saturday October 25 against the Keystone Ice Miners.
