Tomahawks End Season With Win Over Titans
April 15, 2023 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Johnstown Tomahawks News Release
The Johnstown Tomahawks closed out the season with a 4-2 win over the New Jersey Titans on home ice at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA.
Anthony Galante netted his 26th goal of the season on the power play just 3:08 into Saturday's game, followed by a second power play goal from Nick Ahern, who scored a 'Michigan' style goal less than two minutes later to give the Tomahawks an early two-goal lead. Michael Young then scored his 29th of the season with 4:22 remaining in the first period to put the Titans on the board. Andrew King added onto the scoring in the first period with his third goal of the season to give the Tomahawks a 3-1 lead going into the second period.
Galante's second of the game would be the only goal of the second period as physicality took over, with a combined 72 penalty minutes in the middle frame.
Arhip Sidarovich added on a goal for the Titans late in the third period, but it wouldn't be enough as the Tomahawks held off the defending Robertson Cup Champions for a 4-2 win.
From the Tomahawks players, game day operations and front office staff: Thank you to all our fans for your support throughout the entire season.
