Orlando Adds Two to the Backline

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliates of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have agreed to terms with defensemen Corey Fienhage and Bryce Aneloski.

Fienhage (6-3, 216 lbs.) played 63 games for the Gwinnett Gladiators last season, scoring two goals and adding 13 assists for 15 points along with 44 PIM. He also appeared in three games with the Rochester Americans of the AHL (American Hockey League) last year. Fienhage played 32 games for the Gladiators 2011-12, notching 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists), and 20 games for Rochester recording three assists. He made his professional debut with the Portland Pirates (AHL) in 2010-11, earning six PIM in four games.

The Apple Valley, MN, native played one season in the WHL (Western Hockey League) with the Kamloops Blazers in 2010-11, notching 14 points, on four goals and 10 assists, and 96 PIM in 70 games while serving as an Alternate Captain. In two seasons with the University of North Dakota (2008-10), Fienhage played 39 games registering three assists and 56 PIM and won the WCHA Championship in the 2009-10 season.

Aneloski (6-2, 201 lbs.) made his professional debut at the end of last season, playing in seven playoff games with the Allen Americans and helping the club win the CHL (Central Hockey League) Championship. A native of Peking, IL, Aneloski skated for three seasons at the University of Nebraska-Omaha (NCAA) from 2010-13. In 131 games with the Mavericks, he scored 13 goals and added 48 assists for 61 points including leading all team defensemen in points (20) in 2011-12. Before joining the collegiate ranks, he played two seasons (2008-10) with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL (United States Hockey League) and in 2009-10 he led all USHL defensemen in assists (39) and points (54), was selected to the USHL All-Star game, and was named a First Team All-Star.

"Corey is a big, strong, mobile defenseman who brings a physical presence and is solid defensively," said Solar Bears Head Coach Vince Williams. "He is a great asset to our blue line. Bryce is a young defenseman who has strong puck moving ability and brings an offensive element to our defensive corps."
