Hickory Crawdads News Release
Hickory, NC - So the bassman likes baseball? The Hickory Crawdads are inviting Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo out to L.P. Frans Stadium to enjoy an all encompassing day at the ballpark.
Trujillo was picked up by the heavy metal icons as their new bassist in 2003 and has been a part of two number one, multi-platinum albums and eight headlining tours since his entrance. According to the Hickory Daily Record, he cited how both music and baseball can be very inspirational forms of energy. We would like to offer Mr. Trujillo the opportunity to experience the energy generated by a full day at the ballpark.
The day would begin in the Crawdads Clubhouse where Mr. Trujillo would be fitted with his very own uniform. He would then be escorted down to the field where he can watch batting practice and then throw out the first pitch. The Crawdads would then be honored if he would perform the national anthem on his bass guitar before finally being escorted to his private suite to enjoy the rest of the game. Mr. Trujillo is also welcome to take part in one of baseball's oldest and most classic traditions: take me out to the ballgame.
"We realize Metallica is not scheduled to play in Hickory anytime soon, but the Crawdads are committed to making this happen," said Crawdads General Manager Mark Seaman. "We think it would be awesome to have Robert at the ballpark for a day of baseball. The fact that Mr. Trujillo is a fan of the game gives us an opportunity to reach a section of the population that maybe hasn't had a chance to experience baseball before."
The 'Dads realize the gravity of getting a musician of his caliber to L.P. Frans, and want Mr. Trujillo to know he will be treated as such. The organization guarantees that a night at the ballpark for Robert will supply that inspirational energy he craves and get him just as fired up as a concert crowd chanting for the band to start their next song.
