Montreal Alouettes News Release

Montreal, June 3, 2013 - Day 2 of Alouettes training camp continued under a bright sun on Monday morning on the campus of Bishop's University in Sherbrooke, QC and Dan Hawkin's protégés hit the field for another pair of high-energy back-to-back practices.

Defensive back Geoff Tisdale, a free agent signed by General Manager Jim Popp this past winter was impressive, knocking down a series of passes while also shadowing Alouettes receivers all morning, including Brandon London, who was robbed of an otherwise sure-catch at one point.

Slotback Jamel Richardson was on the field with his teammates at the start of the first practice, but ended the day on the sidelines, although the injury does not seem serious. "He just got a ding and he'll be alright," explained Alouettes head coach Dan Hawkins. Defensive tackle Mathieu Boulay was also sidelined for most of the day, but his injury doesn't seem serious either.

Brandon Whitaker did not slow down on the second day of camp, making a spectacular catch with the help of his knees, and proving without a doubt that he's recovered from the injury that prematurely ended his 2012 season.

Scrimmage on Saturday

As always, fans are invited to watch every practice at Coulter Field daily, free of charge. Of note this Saturday, June 8 starting at 9:00 a.m. at Coulter Field is the team scrimmage that will take place. League referees will be on site for the occasion and admission will be free as well.
