Patrick Arlis' tenth inning sacrifice fly allowed the York Revolution to forget coughing up a once six-run lead, as the Revs outlasted the Camden Riversharks 9-8 in 10 innings on a blustery night at Campbell's Field on Friday. The win kicked off a seven-game road trip on a victorious note for the Revs, who will continue their series in South Jersey on Saturday at 5:35 p.m.

Game time temperature was 51 degrees, with temps dipping as low as 46 degrees as the game went along. Winds exceeded 20 miles per hour, with rain swirling throughout the late innings.

Throughout the difficult conditions, the Revs built an early lead, scoring five times in the second inning on a two-run single to center from Ruddy Yan, and a three-run homer down the right field line off the bat of Eric Patterson, staking themselves an early 5-0 lead.

Camden got on the board in the bottom of the third by way of a double steal, with Juan Martinez scoring from third when Chris Walker's steal of second base drew a throw.

The Revs answered back with a fourth inning run on a single up the middle by Arlis, and a fifth inning run on a two-out bloop single to left-center from James Shanks, as the lead grew to 7-1.

Revs starter Nick Green was cruising, having retired nine straight hitters through the first out in the bottom of the sixth. Things began to go south, however, as back-to-back walks and a single loaded the bases. Eduardo Perez then hit a ground ball to first base, and Brian Burgamy's throw home for an attempted force play bounced away, allowing two runs to score on the error. Back-to-back RBI singles by Salomon Manriquez and Johnny Drennen brought Camden within 7-5, as the Sharks scored four times in the inning. The Revs escaped further trouble when reliever Julio DePaula retired Billy Rice on a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning.

York plated a crucial insurance run in the top of the eighth on a bloop single to center by Arlis. As it turned out, that run would help insure extra innings, as the extra frame proved necessary to secure the victory.

Camden scored three times in its half of the eighth inning to come all the way back and tie it at 8-8. Perez led off the inning with an opposite field home run to right off reliever Rommie Lewis. Martinez later drove a sacrifice fly to right to add another run. Two errors in the inning helped lead to the tying run scoring, which was unearned, on a two-out single to center by Paddy Matera.

The Revs rebounded in the tenth inning to come up with the decisive run. Mike Coles worked a one-out walk, and went to third on a hit-and-run single to left by Yan. Arlis then produced the go-ahead sacrifice fly to right, with Coles scoring on a great headfirst slide at the plate.

York closer Juan Rincon earned his sixth save, silencing the Riversharks with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Reliever Michael Wuertz (1-1) picked up the win for the Revs, stranding two runners in both the eighth and ninth innings. Camden's Ryan Quigley (1-3) suffered the loss.
