B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club is pleased to announce that Coast Capital Savings has signed on as another premier partner and their official credit union.
The multi-year agreement, which was announced this morning at the club's practice facility in Surrey, will give Coast Capital Savings high-profile exposure as their brand will be featured on the Lions' home and away jerseys among a number of other branding and community partnership opportunities.
"We are very pleased to welcome Coast Capital Savings to the BC Lions family," said Lions president and CEO Dennis Skulsky. "As a fellow organization with a long and proud history in British Columbia, Coast Capital Savings is a leader among their peers in this province and the fact that they made a long-term commitment to our club speaks to the strength of our brand."
In addition to being featured on the club's home and away jerseys and their designation as the official credit union of the BC Lions, fans will see the Coast Capital Savings brand in-stadium on game days as they become the presenting sponsor of every Lions touchdown scored at BC Place.
"Coast Capital Savings has great respect for what the BC Lions do as a customer-focused, community-minded organization," said Tracy Redies, president and CEO, Coast Capital Savings. "Our partnership allows us to leverage the BC Lions marketing strength to build the Coast Capital Savings brand, even garnering national exposure. We're thrilled we can do this all while providing unique benefits to both our members and our communities."
As part of the three-year agreement, the credit union has signed on as a supporting partner of the club's Lions Pride program.
"Coast Capital Savings strives to build a richer future for youth in our communities," explains Redies. "Lions Pride is a fantastic program that ultimately contributes to those richer futures using the Lions' celebrity and ability to connect with young people to build self-esteem and social skills. It is that shared commitment to the youth in our communities that further strengthens this partnership and launches it into something bigger, something beyond strictly a marketing opportunity for each organization."
BC Lions Training Camp presented by Sun Peaks Resort gets underway in Kamloops, BC on Sunday, June 2. The Lions kick off the 2013 campaign with a preseason tilt versus Edmonton on Friday, June 21 at 7:00 pm and begin their regular season home schedule on Thursday, July 4 versus the reigning Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts.
