
Griffins Edge Marlies to Win Series 4-2

The Grand Rapids Griffins defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 4-3 tonight at Ricoh Coliseum. The victory gives the Griffins a 4-2 series win over Toronto and a berth in the Western Conference Final.
The Marlies jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the end of the opening frame on goals from Carter Ashton and Paul Ranger. The Griffins would answer back in the second period when Tomas Tatar notched a powerplay tally at 4:00. Toronto restored their two goal lead just 37 seconds later on Will Acton's fourth goal of the post-season. Jan Mursak and Tomas Tatar would notch back-to-back goals just 28 seconds apart in the third period to tie the game at three. Griffins forward Luke Glendening would score the eventual series clinching goal with just over four minutes remaining in regulation.
